Welcoming the Chinese New Year in the Year of the Snake

On January 7, 2025, with the Laba Festival on the lunar calendar, the Youth League Committee of the School of Public Health at Fudan University specially organized a "Chinese New Year Celebration for Faculty and Students." The event was honored to invite Professor Gao Xiang and Sun Liang from the school to join the students in wielding brushes and ink, writing and painting the finest New Year blessings. Writing Spring Festival couplets, writing the character "Fu", painting spring snakes, and writing bookmarks

The character "Fu" symbolizes that "good fortune has arrived," while Spring Festival couplets embody the beautiful wishes of the Chinese working people to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, and to usher in auspiciousness and blessings.

First, Professor Gao demonstrated writing the character "Fu" and Spring Festival couplets for everyone, and Professor Sun showed everyone how to paint the New Year spring snake. At the same time, the two professors also inscribed New Year bookmarks for everyone, wishing the students success in their studies and abundant achievements in the new year. Under the warm guidance of the teachers, the students wrote freely, wishing for peace, happiness, and smooth sailing in everything in the new year.
